THE LOCATION

Your trip begins in Medan in Northern Sumatra. Many international airlines fly to Medan from Singapore, Malaysia or other Indonesian cities. Here you will be met at the airport by by our English speaking staff and transferred to a charter plane that will fly you to Guningsitoli in  Nias, from here it is a 2-3 hour bus trip through the countryside of Nias to Teluk Dalam in the South where you will meet the boat.

From there you will travel by sea to the Hinako Atolls which on the map above can be seen S-SW of Sirombu. The Indo Jiwa, will anchor off Hinako Island and this will act as the base from which 'surf' and 'purpose' expeditions will begin. From the anchorage, you can often see the horizon lift up, and discover a big peak wrapping around Bawa Island. Its a hurried search for wax, then a quick smothering of sunscreen, and a 10 minute boat trip to the action!
